Topic: Hurray i am having my lap band done August 10th
I am so excited, I have been overweight my whole life. I cant believe after finally becoming single that I have made this choice on my own to get the lap band. I was wondering if anyone had some key elements they would like to share with me in reguards to my first month after surgery.

Hey I feel the same way!! I guess all these years we thought and acted to things the same way over and over but failed . However, the WLS will be a tool to help us change our outlook about ourselves to a positive point. Nevertheless, change is a difficult journey... but it starts with the first step. Stay strong and Good Luck!!

I am so very happy for you!!! My date is August 3, 2009! We are both having the DS!... I hope we both have wonderful experiences in starting our new lives!

I started my 'stop smoking' efforts this past Monday... it has been a struggle. I have had about 4 cigarettes in 6 days... that is one heck of an improvement from the 20+ per day!
You can do it! You are having surgery to change your life... might as well change all of it, right?

Thought that I would let everyone know about my upcoming DS surgery. I am both nervous and excited about this... starting my pre-op (simply a low fat diet) on Monday....
How is everyone handling their pre-op preparations?
